How music keeps moving

01

LISTEN

Recorded and broadcast music expanded its reach.

02

WATCH

Music video gave songs a visual language.

03

ACCESS

Streaming put music within immediate reach across devices.

04

ENTER

Interactive and spatial technology open the possibility of music-led environments audiences can explore.

What remains unresolved?

Immersive music is still difficult for artists and rights holders to evaluate.

A compelling experience is only one part of the decision. Valuable catalogue brings several questions with it.

Stakeholder concern The question
Creative

Does the experience respect the song, artist identity and intent?

Rights

What needs to be cleared, licensed or approved?

Commercial

What does it cost? Where is value created? Who participates?

Audience

Can fans access it without specialized hardware?

Leadership

Does this become a lasting catalogue asset or another one-off activation?

The hard part is giving everyone involved enough clarity to make the decision together.

Where does VSA fit?

VSA is building a clearer path from music catalogue to immersive experience.

The process begins with the work and the people responsible for it.

01

Start with the music

Define the song, catalogue context, creative intent and experience under consideration.

02

Make the direction visible

Give stakeholders something concrete to see and assess.

03

Address the questions early

Bring rights, attribution, access, production and approvals into the conversation.

04

Move toward commercial fit

When an opportunity is qualified, begin the discussion around scope, participation and economics.

See the experience. Understand the path. Start the conversation.

What is VSA building?

VSA does not begin with a headset. It begins with the music.

Songs, lyrics, performance and visual identity become the raw material for immersive environments. Access begins on familiar screens, with the option to step further into the experience through immersive hardware.

Start on a screen. Step further in when you are ready.

LONGER TERM

The VSA Platform

A broader environment for artists, rights holders, creators, audiences and partners.

Start on a screen. Step further in when you are ready.

The screen-first direction is part of Sam’s stated implementation strategy.

How does VSA create value?

The business model extends beyond the experience itself.

A music-led world can create several commercial paths around the work.

Participant Potential value
Artists & Rights Holders

Activate approved catalogue and participate in value created around the work.

Audiences

Access deeper music experiences, premium participation and related products.

Creative Contributors

Participate in future visual, performance and immersive work.

VSA

Generate revenue through experiences, access, subscriptions, commerce and future platform participation.

The people behind the creative value should remain part of the value equation.

What could scale look like?

The model is built around a growing catalogue of immersive music experiences.

Why this approach?

The song is not content inside the world. The song shapes the world.

01

MUSIC-LED

The environment grows from the song.

02

RIGHTS-AWARE

Creative intent, permissions and attribution enter the process early.

03

JUDGEABLE

Stakeholders can see what is being proposed before deeper commitment.

04

ACCESSIBLE

The experience begins on conventional screens rather than requiring headset ownership.

05

HUMAN-FIRST

Technology serves the creative work.

How can this scale beyond individual releases?

VSA begins with individual music experiences and is designed to grow beyond them.

SONG

One approved work.

EXPERIENCE

A music-led immersive world.

CATALOGUE

A repeatable path across additional works.

PLATFORM

A consistent place for artists, rights holders, audiences and creators to participate.

Why this founder?

An engineer returned to art. VSA emerged where the two met.

Sam Dinatolo, P.Eng., PMP, spent more than three decades in engineering and major infrastructure project delivery before returning deliberately to visual and digital art. That path led him into Unity, where he chose to build an immersive concert environment around Led Zeppelin's Achilles Last Stand rather than a conventional game or productivity tool. The experiment sparked a larger idea: what if music could become an environment audiences could enter? From there, the concept evolved through early hardware exploration, accelerator participation and eventually into the software-led immersive music platform that became Visual Sound Ascension. Today, Sam brings together the systems discipline of an engineer with the perspective of an artist, guided by a belief that technology should expand human creativity rather than replace it.

“Technology should be utilized as an enabler of human creativity, not a replacement.”

What still has to be proven?

A credible investment thesis should stand up to hard questions.

No. The planned entry point is the screen audiences already use. Headsets can deepen the experience without becoming the only way in.

No. VSA has development work, concepts, product planning and roadmap activity. The initial product and broader platform are still being developed.

VSA intends to address permissions, attribution, publishing, masters, likeness and related rights early in the account process. Final structures will depend on the work involved and agreements required.

The current model considers experiences, subscriptions, premium access, merchandise, commerce and platform participation.

VSA is pursuing a focused position around music-led storytelling, rights-holder relevance, screen-first access and experiences that can be assessed before deeper commitment.

That still has to be earned. Potential advantages may develop through workflow, creative methodology, technology, catalogue relationships, distribution and network effects.

VSA's current team with founder leadership, contracted, fractional, collaborative and potentially returning capability will allow beta development. Team expansion is part of the next phase.

Mike Hopkin

Business Coach & Advisor | 25+ Years in Technology Product Leadership

Michael Hopkin brings 25+ years of technology product leadership to the table. He has led product strategy and execution at companies ranging from venture-backed startups to Fortune 500 enterprises, including a $650M health products company and a SaaS platform serving 30,000+ customers. Earlier in his career he spent five years at Altiris, where he personally led strategic partnerships with Dell, HP, and VMware. Altiris was acquired by Symantec for $300M.

Michael is Founder and CEO of Hopkin Profit Creation, a business coaching and advisory firm serving CEOs of software companies, and serves as Senior Advisor at BairesDev, a global technology services organization. He builds AI-powered tools himself using Claude and Cursor, and has developed a LinkedIn contact intelligence platform that generates personalized outreach at scale. He brings hands-on AI
experience to every client engagement.

Michael grew up on a cattle ranch in northern Utah, the fifth of ten children. His father put him to work at six years old, moving sprinkler pipes and herding cattle. By fifteen he was running his own cattle herd. That upbringing shaped everything: how he works, how he leads, and what he believes about the relationship between hard work and results.

Michael is a catalyst. He sees what others miss, aligns the people who need to be aligned, and moves things forward until the outcomes are real. For a company like Atman, looking to build a credible US presence and take its Salesforce and AI capabilities to the American market, Michael brings exactly what is needed: a deep network of CEOs and product leaders, a proven track record across the industries Atman serves, and the work ethic to stay until the job is done right.
